Exporting Overview
The Export Workspace (Deliver) is the final stage of post-production. It takes the thousands of microscopic decisions you made across the Edit, Compositor, Color, and Audio workspaces and flattens them into a single, playable video file.
If you choose the wrong export settings, a masterfully edited and graded film will look pixelated, stuttery, and desaturated when the audience watches it.
The Basic Workflow
To export a video in Oraphim:
- Enter the Export Workspace.
- Select a pre-built preset (e.g., "YouTube") or manually configure the Format, Codec, and Resolution in the Render Settings panel on the left.
- Choose a destination folder and a filename.
- Click Add to Render Queue at the bottom of the left panel.
- In the Render Queue panel on the right, click Render All.
Oraphim's rendering engine will begin processing. Depending on the complexity of your node graphs, the length of your film, and your hardware, this could take seconds or hours.
Key Concepts to Understand
Before you manually adjust settings, it is highly recommended to understand the difference between containers and compression:
- Formats (Containers): The wrapper that holds your video (e.g., MP4, MOV).
- Codecs (Compression): The mathematical algorithm used to shrink the file size (e.g., H.264, ProRes).
- Bitrate: The amount of data allocated per second of video. This directly dictates file size and image quality.
If you understand these three concepts, you will never deliver a blurry video to a client again.
