Workspaces Overview
ORAPHIM abandons the concept of opening floating windows for different tasks in favor of a unified Workspace paradigm.
Instead of moving media between entirely separate applications—for example, editing in Premiere Pro, exporting an XML, importing into DaVinci Resolve for color grading, exporting a ProRes file, and bringing it into After Effects for VFX—ORAPHIM handles all of these tasks inside a single application engine using distinct, task-oriented pages.
The Five Pillars of ORAPHIM
At the top of your screen, you will see the Workspace navigation menu. Selecting a workspace does not alter your project data; it simply changes the user interface to prioritize the tools needed for that specific stage of post-production.
- Edit Workspace: The primary non-linear editing (NLE) environment. Here, you assemble clips on a timeline, trim footage, and organize your media.
- Compositor Workspace: The procedural node-based compositing environment. This is where you build complex motion graphics, green screen keys, 3D tracking, and visual effects.
- Color Workspace: The professional color grading environment. Featuring node-based color pipelines, HDR scopes, and advanced qualifying tools.
- Audio Workspace: The Fairlight-style digital audio workstation (DAW). Dedicated to mixing, EQ, dynamics, and mastering your final soundtrack.
- Export Workspace: The delivery environment. Configures the rendering pipeline, file formats, and render queue for final output.
Instant Synchronization
Because all workspaces sit on top of the same underlying ORAPHIM engine, changes are completely synchronous.
If you are grading a clip in the Color workspace and realize a cut happens two frames too late, you can instantly switch back to the Edit workspace, trim the clip, and switch back to Color. There is no rendering, saving, or round-tripping required. The color grade will perfectly follow the newly trimmed clip.
Customizing Workspaces
While each workspace is tailored for a specific task, you are not strictly bound to the default layouts.
- Dual Monitor Setup: You can enable dual monitor mode via
Workspace > Dual Screen > On. This allows you to place the Timeline on your primary monitor and the Media Pool and Inspector on your secondary monitor. - Saving Layouts: If you adjust panel sizes and undock specific tools, you can save your custom layout by selecting
Workspace > Layout > Save Current Layout as Preset.
