UI Overview
ORAPHIM features a modern, single-window interface that adapts to the specific task you are performing. Instead of cluttering the screen with every possible tool at once, ORAPHIM uses a Workspace paradigm.
The Top Menu Bar
At the very top of the application window, you will find the main menu bar.
- File: Standard project management options (Save, Save As, Project Manager).
- Workspace: Switch between the core layouts: Edit, Composition, Color, Audio, and Export.
- Effect: A context-sensitive menu that lists available effects and procedural nodes based on your current selection.
- Help: Contains the ORAPHIM Documentation Center, which opens this exact manual inside a native application panel for quick reference.
The Workspace Paradigm
ORAPHIM is divided into distinct, task-oriented workspaces:
- Edit Workspace: Traditional non-linear editing. Features the Media Pool, Source/Program Monitors, and the multitrack Timeline.
- Composition Workspace: The node graph editor. Features infinite canvas routing, deep layer controls, and procedural VFX tools.
- Color Workspace: Primary and secondary color correction. Features color wheels, scopes, qualifiers, and node-based grading.
- Audio Workspace: Audio mastering. Features the Fairlight-style mixing console, track routing, and waveform editing.
- Export Workspace: Output and rendering. Features render queues and format presets.
You can switch between these workspaces at any time without rendering or saving; the underlying engine instantly syncs changes across all pages.
Panels and Docking
ORAPHIM uses a flexible panel system. Almost every distinct area of the UI (the Inspector, the Timeline, the Scopes) is a Panel.
- Moving Panels: You can click and drag the title bar of any panel to undock it and let it float over the interface, or move it to a secondary monitor.
- Docking Panels: Drag a floating panel over another panel until a docking drop-zone appears. Release the mouse to snap the panel into that quadrant or tab group.
- Resizing: Hover your cursor between any two panels to click and drag the dividing line, adjusting the proportions to your preference.
The Inspector
One of the most critical panels in ORAPHIM is the Inspector. Located by default on the right side of the screen, the Inspector dynamically displays the properties of whatever you currently have selected.
- If you select a video clip on the Timeline, the Inspector shows transform controls (Zoom, Position, Pitch, Yaw), cropping, and opacity.
- If you select a Node in the Compositor, the Inspector shows the specific mathematical parameters for that node.
- If you select an Audio clip, the Inspector shows volume, pan, and EQ.
To reset any parameter in the Inspector to its default value, click the small circular arrow icon next to the value.
Context-Sensitive Help
You do not need to memorize the entire application. Look for the [?] icon located in the top-right corner of major panels (like the Timeline or the Inspector). Clicking this icon will instantly open the Documentation Center to the relevant page explaining how that specific panel works.
