Creating Motion Graphic Templates
If you are editing a weekly YouTube series or a documentary with dozens of interviews, building a lower-third name graphic from scratch every time is a massive waste of time. Oraphim allows you to package any node graph into a reusable Template.
The Macro Workflow
A Template is essentially a Macro that has been saved in a specific folder so it appears in the Edit Workspace's Effects Library.
- Build your entire graphic in the Compositor (e.g., a spinning logo with a Text+ node for a title).
- Marquee select all nodes involved.
- Right-click and choose Macro > Create Macro.
- In the dialog, check the boxes for the parameters you want to be able to edit later (e.g., the
Styled Textbox so you can change the name, and theColorbox so you can change the theme). - Name the Macro (e.g., "YouTube_LowerThird").
Saving to the Correct Directory
Where you save the Macro determines how it behaves in the Edit Workspace.
On Windows, the paths are usually located in:
C:\ProgramData\Oraphim\Support\Templates\Edit\
On macOS, the paths are in:
/Library/Application Support/Oraphim/Templates/Edit/
Inside that Edit folder, you will see subfolders:
Titles: Save your Macro here if it is a text graphic (Lower Thirds, Intro Cards).Generators: Save it here if it generates full-screen visual elements (like a looping animated background).Transitions: Save it here if the Macro is designed to blend two clips together.Effects: Save it here if the Macro alters the image (like a custom stylized color glitch).
Using the Template
- Restart Oraphim (or right-click the Effects Library and hit Refresh).
- In the Edit Workspace, open the Effects Library and navigate to Titles.
- You will see "YouTube_LowerThird" listed.
- Drag it onto your timeline.
- Select the clip on the timeline and look at the Inspector. You will see exactly the text box and color controls you exposed, allowing you to quickly type in a new guest's name without ever opening the Compositor Workspace!
