Getting started
Complete first project
A no-video walkthrough from project creation to a verified delivery file, with safe defaults and checkpoints.
Updated August 27, 2026Complete first project
This is the fastest reliable way to learn Oraphim. The goal is not to touch every panel; it is to complete the same loop you will repeat on real work: create → import → edit → refine → save → export → verify.
1. Create the project
From the Project Hub choose New Project. Give the project a useful name and store it in a folder you can keep with its source media. For ordinary SDR web work, 1920×1080 and Rec.709 are sensible starting points. Match the project frame rate to the footage or the required delivery instead of changing cadence casually.
Save immediately after the editor opens. Oraphim project files use the .orp extension.
2. Import and organize
Open Edit, import the required video, image, or audio files into the Media Pool, and wait for metadata/thumbnails to settle before judging a large batch. Keep source files in stable folders; the project references them rather than copying every source into the .orp file.
3. Build the edit
Create a timeline, place the main clip on a compatible track, trim the beginning and end, then add a second clip and create one intentional cut. Add audio only after picture timing is understandable. Use the Inspector for selection-specific controls rather than searching unrelated panels.
4. Add one finishing operation
Choose one: a title in Composition, a simple effect, a basic color balance, or an audio level adjustment. Make a visible but controlled change, save, then play through the complete affected section.
5. Export and verify
Open Export, confirm the selected timeline or composition resource, choose an appropriate H.264 preset for a review file, set the output path, add the job to the Render Queue, and render it. Open the finished file independently and verify beginning, end, duration, dimensions, motion, audio, text, and filename.
Success checklist
- The
.orpproject reopens without missing media. - The timeline plays from start to finish.
- The finishing change is visible/audible in context.
- The Render Queue finishes successfully.
- The exported file plays outside Oraphim and matches the intended range.
Once this loop is comfortable, continue into the dedicated Edit, Composition, Color, VFX/3D, Audio, AI/MCP, and Export sections.
